I happily received my Digitech Jamman yesterday from AMS. It comes nicely presented in a hefty box with included power supply & 128 MB CompactFlash card. The unit is hefty, too. Similar, in a sense, to the boss Loop Station. I did a quick & dirty hookup to my Fender Cyber-Deluxe amp through the effects loop. This is definitely not the ideal configuration but I just wanted to give it a run-through. Ultimately, I'd hook the output of the Jamman to one of my mixer inputs and listen via monitors.

Any users here?* Or I could use the Bad Horsie II. This is not very flexible, but very cool...Amp modeling:* Behringer's X VAmp. Nice package for my application.Relatively cheap. Are there any alternatives? (Korg Pandora series?)Looping/Delay:I believe I need two devices here, one of which could be my DL4,although it takes up lots of real estate...devices I thought about:* Boss DD20* Boxx RC-20(XL)* Digitech JammanBoth the RC-20 and the Jamman seem to be loopers "only", while the DD20(and also the DL4) are delays with loop capabilities. I think aboutcombining one of each group...price-wise, the Jamman is cheaper than theRC-20 (while the DD20 is still cheaper). Pros/Cons of RC-20 (XL) vs.Jamman? Pros/Cons of DD20 vs. DL4?So one possible signal chain might be:(Guitar)->Machine->WD10->Jamman->XVamp=>MicroMod=>KP2=>(VolumePedal)=>DD20=>(Out)Any thoughts about

I wouldn't knock down anyone because my Taylor or Martin guitar sounded better than their Takamine or Ibanez... They're just tools of the trade, and it's up me to make it sound as good as I possibly can - whether it's $300 or $3000. Personally, I'm having a lot of FUN learning and playing on the Digitech JamMan with simple looping techniques. So it works for me... for now.

A Repeater, if you can find one, might do it better. -----Music: http://www.kellycoyle.netBlog: http://wwwquotidianme.blogspot.com/ On Dec 12, 2005, at 6:03 PM, Tony Hughes wrote:I am using the looper as a theatrical device, that allows me to record ambient/musical sounds as well as spoken word. Only having a little over three minutes of record time, would be really limiting. Imagine an hour long performance in which I slowly add to a 5/10/15 minute loop of sound. Starting with a bass tone, and building up percussion, words, sounds until towards the end of the show, the sound has become an integral part of the performance...It has been layered in front of the audience, and then, I unbuild the layers until returning to the original bass tone. It is the sole musical instrument (other than my voice that I'm planning to use). The performance ready aspect of the jamman (pedal based / ready to use with some simple connections) really makes in appealing to me. Oh, in terms of timing, I plan to learn how to press the pedals at the correct time in order (this will take some practice) to sync between the two...which shouldn't be that hard, because each time I am recording between the two jammans, I am recording a fresh sample - which in the end means that each time I'm pushing pedals I'm pushing them at the same time (being able to drive a stick shift should leave me fairly well prepared). Meaning that, I am really only using the second jamman to keep the sound running, while I stop jamman one, save into a loop and then resave into a second loop (so that I can unbuild at the end). This is getting kind of long so my apologies. But, here is how I see it working. Push left pedal on jamman 1 (JM1). Record sample. When finished recording push left pedal on JM1 and JM2 - thereby starting to loop sample on JM1 and record into JM2. When sample is finished playing once, push right pedal on JM1 and left pedal on JM2, thereby stopping playback on JM1 and starting on JM2. These are all concurrent pedal pushes, so it should be any harder than looping in at the current time in a song or measure...at this point, I can save and resave on JM1 into different loop slots. To repeat, all I have to do is push the left pedal on JM1 (starting the sample in a fresh loop) while pushing the right pedal on JM2 (stopping the loop from playing) to record on top of the original sound. Then all I have to do is hold down the right pedal on JM2 to erase that loop (or using the footpedal switch between two tracks to clear the loop). Then I'm all set to go again. I guess it does sound a little complicated, but for 600 dollars, I get unlimited loop time and the ability to undo hours worth of sound. Also - I'm not working in a musical environment in which I need exact timing. I'll need good timing, but it won't matter if I come in a little off here or there. I really appreciate all the replies, because I am becoming more and more convinced that I am on the right track (for what I want to do). Note* the jamman will also allow me to save recorded performances into my computer. (Great for archiving a show). Like others suggested, this sounds like another reason why you might wantto look at a higher-end looper. Those usually have much more displayfeatures. You can't really expect the low end products to do everything. kim______________________________________________________________________Kim Flint | Looper's Delightkflint@loopers-delight.com | http://www.loopers-delight.com

I didn't appreciate the quality of sound I got out of a loop on the RC-20 when I used it in the store, that's the only looper they carry (small town). I've heard the Lexicon JamMan and am a big fan of it. I assume the Echoplex has a good sound for that price. But I'm curious about the Digitech JamMan and the RC-50. Can anyone vouch for the way they sound? Is it a sampling rate issue I'm hearing, or what? I'd like to hear some feedback before I purchase any of these units. Thanks!

thanks for the replies! I think the Gibson EDP is out of my price range, unless I can find a rediculous deal on one on Ebay, but I am glad to know that that the Boomerang does have a decay - I did not realize that. Right now that may look like the best option, although I am a bit wary of the noise that many reviewers report as my rig is already quite noisey. Another person recommended the Electro Harmonix 2880 or their 16 second delay (and mentioned that the original lexicon jamman and the electrix repeater also had a function to set the feedback). I'm glad to know that I what I want does indeed exist and for the help in narrowing it down. Now I can return the looper I bought that I thought had a set-able feedback but does not (digitech jamman). Hi Mark, a simple yet effective technique that I use for my JamMan is to run a mic cable directly to a guitar volume pedal (provided it's a 1/4 inch output) and then out from the volume pedal using a 1/4 to male XLR conversion cable into the mic input on your JamMan. Once youv'e done this, you can record the vocal loop at a volume similar to a live background singer and then sing live with the volume pedal at full output. Looking at your volume pedal as a mixer/foot control might open up other creative uses as well....... Hi, using: *Digitech JamMan w/ FS1 footswitch *Acoustic guitar *SM58 vocal mic HOW CAN I: Loop ONLY GUITAR, so I can GUITAR SOLO/LEAD over the VERSE CHORDS w/o any vocal ? On the CHORUS, I often want to Loop guitar AND vocal (which is automatic on JamMan), & harmonize over the chorus vocal. I did a search for a vocal A/B box, but only found the "Panic Button" (approx. $135 @ Musician's Friend), as regular A/B or A/B/C boxes are all hi-imped / 1/4" jacks. Is Panic Button the way to go? Any suggestions??? Thanks for any help or suggestions on controlling this or any loosely related strategies that might be interesting.Mark Young1,124 Memorized Requestable Songs... 50s, 60s, 70s & TodayFolk, Rock, Pop, Funny, Country, & Originalswww.musicbymark.net / www.myspace.com/somanysongs

Hi folks,This has to have been a topic before now but didn't have any joy in the archive.I've started to try and put a few songs together looping bass, rhythm and lead parts together on my Digitech JamMan. It's all good fun, but it sounds sort of empty without any drums. The JamMan has a few simple click tracks, but they're only any good for keeping time, and they don't become a part of the saved loop.

I fall in love with the LOOP things after watch some youtubes. I wanna use it with my voice, only voice no other instument. Then, I found this social! hahahaSo, I wanna testing some of it. However in Thailand there's only Boss - ex.RC-50 RC20XLand Digitech Jamman to try in the shopI don't wanna get too advance gear but if it's worth for creating loops and maybe live performance, I will. Gibson EDP will be my top list but just only it's a bit expensive for beginner like me who's not that sure about looping life that muchand I'm wonder if it's too advance or complicate than RC-50 or JAMMAN or not. (I prefer Jamman if compare to RC20XL just because of the XLR for microphone)about the RC-20 and Akai Headrush I've read many review and it's not so suitable with the vocal looper? I think I may end up popping for the new 'Rang. I DON'T like the fact that it is missing MIDI sync capabilities, though. However, EDP's in excellent condition are somewhat hard to find and the looperlative is too expensive for me. I had an RC-50 and wasn't totally enamoured of the device. It was, frankly, kind of a pain in the rear to use. I just sold off my Digitech Jamman which is a decent basic device. I've also owned and sold a Boss RC-2 and RC-20 (and also several EDPs, the original Jamman and the cool-looking Electrix looper). So...I'm in the market for a new looper and the new 'Rang really looks impressive.--- On Tue, 9/15/09, BC <compguy2@comcast.net> wrote:

Hello Everyone, this is my first post so you will all have to forgive me if I do or say something wrong! Moving on, I have recently upgraded from a DigiTech Jamman to a Boss RC-50. I have also acquired an Akai MPC 2500 which I would like to sync to the RC-50 via midi. I tried doing it this morning, and although both devices were set to transmit (MPC) and receive (RC50) midi data, the RC-50 would not recognize anything. I wouldn't sync to the tempo of the MPC, and it almost seemed like it wasn't receiving any information at all. The MPC has 4 Midi outs and perhaps the one I was using is not working, or it could be the cable, I will try weeding the things out later tonight.

Ive been checking out the new Digitech jamman stereo,i was really excited when i saw the labeled pedals "loop up/ loop down" i thought wow finally somebody is thinking song looping yeah! but i dont think you can go straight from a recorded loop into a new empty loop in record mode,it seems to be more just for pre-stored loops and scroll through them,bummer...

I've had both (am currently using a Digitech Jamman Delay - ow). I really liked the new 'Rang a lot. The sound quality was pretty good and the pedal action was acceptable. But--I really didn't like that "circular" lighted construct at all. I found it confusing and non-intuitive. And it was time consuming to reassign pedal functions. I may purchase another one now that the new software version is available.

hardware choices which i think will do what you want:The Digitech Jamman stereo will do that, you can store backing tracks, your own loops etc.and there is a software called jammanager to make workflow easyit has,reverse,undo/redo and something like 99 slots to store wqhich you can easily scroll through,i have it and thats plus its size is what was attractive for meThe new RC-300 is very good though, you can also store loops or back.tracks and it has 3 independent tracks which you can be of any length, stop and start independently undo, redo, reverse and pre or post fxyou can also use it in "next track mode" to change between arrangments parts like with the echoplex "next loop" functionand 20:

Would anyone be willing to give their suggestion for what would be best for the following:- I'm a singer/songwriter who primarily uses an acoustic guitar.- My biggest need: I want to be able to create drum loops prior to my shows to use as backup, so I want to be able to access different pre-recorded loops easily (sometimes 2 or 3 different loops within a song) and turn each one on and off easily. I will also be doing some on-the-fly vocal looping that I will need to be able to store and turn on and off as well. Optimally, I want to do all of this using just foot switches.I was looking at the Digitech Jamman Stereo or the Delay, but I don't know if either one will

When the chorus came, I'd play that live, then when the bridge came, I'd have already advanced to the next (empty) memory slot on the JamMan and record/play/save the bridge there. When the bridge was over, one pedal push down a memory slot and the verse would play on the next 1. Tricky, but doable. Now that I have six JamMan's on the floor, I'm just beginning to tap into the possibilities. Haven't posted videos yet of the new rig, but my current YouTube vids do show how I used the single looper. Search 'Rejyna' - - - Big advantage is being able to save while the looper is playing - not sure if any other loopers out there will save while they're playing (my RC3 and RC30 do not, they must be stooped to save and adjacent loops do not play seamlessly) - - - and the 3 button for the JamMan is a must for advanced use (imho) - Hope this helpsRejynaFrom: mike@michaelplishka.comTo: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.comSubject: RE: DigiTech JamMan Express XT /Date: Tue, 11 Nov 2014 23:23:24 -0600Very cool! Then you can switch between the two loops.2) get a 2nd looper and two FS3x's. Put the FS3x for Looper A next to looper B in such a way as to allow one stomp to stop Looper A while also starting Looper B. Hi,Have you tried Logelloop? It is very stable on Yosemite. Each track has a ‘play once’ button (a bit broken in the current but the fix is coming very soon now and I can send you offlist a link to the beta who fix it)It is possible to preload loops and record overdubs on them. And much more is possible! You’ll find the demo at www.logelloop.com.Thanks,Philippe Le 31 janv. 2016 à 06:20, EJ Singson <ejsingson@gmail.com> a écrit :I've been a looper for a good while now. I THINK - no promises - all you need is an adapter cord or the doohickey that has a stereo plug or jack on one end, out to two mono ends (or jacks). And then one or the other of the mono ends can be hooked to the mono switch. You'll know it was the right mono end because it worked. And you'd know it wasn... well I can't say. I am NOT warranting diddly-bumkis here. Uhh, polarity switch? GAAAA.... I can wire fairly complicated stuff by following good drawings, but beside the concept that "current is like water" I don't know my jack from a hole in a wombat. I decided sometime last CENTURY (creak, mumble drool) that I wanted to play music ABOVE becoming a programmer and it shore kin set me a-howlin' sometimes. Sometimes I just keep plugging in and switching and re-plugging and re-switching until IT WORKS. Whoa! Rejyna uses the Digitech Jamman solo XT... she chains several of them together, there's no limit to how many you can do that with.
