Re: LoopGrass
Andy that's neat, I've heard that about Steve. Friend at MB used to echo that to me loudly. Wonderful you got to tour Japan, I'd like to do that one day though goals have shifted a bit as years have gone by.
Sounds like you are soaking of much goodness here from the loopedness and that's grand, it's a good place.
I can join you in pretty weird fiddle sounds, it's a haunt for me that calls and challenges.
There was a young lady from Germany who looped on banjo at Y2K this last October, she actually did this bowed banjo thing, was neat.
as they say keep pickin' but you don't have to grin! (sort of like don't inhale...)

Thanks Jim, yes I have known Steve Kaufman for a long time. We did a Japan tour together, co-billed, it was a blast. Taught Kaufman Kamp two years ago and hope to be back in 2012. He is a great guy and an uncredible bizness person, genius.
Havent really gotten too far with Bluegrass looping, but now that I'm happy with my rig and all my instrument sounds, its next.
Cant compete with yall on making weird sounds but I would bet I'm a better banjo picker than most loopers!!! Oh wait on fiddle I can make some very weird sounds!!!

So the typing might not be my best!
Looping bluegrass, sounds like something John McCuen or Sam Bush would be in to Andy, actually the thought sounds rather cool. Noticed you are teaching or have at Steve Kaufman's camp. I got to know Steve a little bit when I first came in to the Mel Bay family. Don't think he would remember me now but he gave me some good input several years ago. Feels you will bring an interesting mix into the community Andy, welcome...
