Rép : Keeping the off-topic off the list

Hi,

Objet : Rép : Keeping the off-topic off the list

To be clear, I agree pretty much with Warren's sentiments earlier. Yet, I'm not really opposed to a parallel list, either (I even suggested that myself at one point).  As Per and a few others have mentioned, it's relatively little work to simply filter it all into the same mailbox and go on business-as-usual.

Well, as I explained before there are also people who use the digest version. It's just another way of reading emails, I've been doing this for most of the lists that I read for years. But I suspect that I'm part of a minority here :)

If people used subjects that are actually related to the content and if everyone erased the unnecessary parts of the previous mails they're responding to, the digests would be far easier to read and navigate, by the way...

To that end, however, can you please post the direct address for subscribing to LDOT from a *non* Gmail email account?  Google's being stupid (keeps trying to force me to create a new gmail addy with so much gobbledegook that I'll never remember the damn thing; yes, it's the system, because I'm already requesting things so ridiculously convoluted that there's no way anybody has these addresses).  I'm rather irritated at them right now, and it would be much easier to simply send a "subscribe" command.  Bugger-all this web-based garbage.  :P

It should be :
And to unsub :

And the homepage is :

I should have mentioned this in the initial email, sorry.

And the following page gives more info about what you can do with a google account that you can't do without one (I wasn't aware of this until I found this page) : http://groups.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=46438&topic=9244

I made a googlegroup because it was quite simple to do and because yahoogroups are just horrible :)

As I said earlier, I just did this to help when people started to complain about the content of the mails from the list recently.
No one is forced to do anything but this is just another available option...

Hope this helps,
