AW: OT: mastering



Ah, I gotcha, Rainer. You're absolutely right, creating a CD master can 
literally be a hands-off process. Thanks for explaining that.

more OT: I was lucky enough to be at the mastering session for the vinyl 
single my band put out (analog from tracking all the way to the end...). 
Amazing thing, to watch the groove getting laid down on that huge master 
disk, the engineer watching with a microscope to be sure the bass didn't 
swing the cutting head too wide. It was a total indulgence - I think we 
sold 30 out of 500 pressed - but I'm so happy I did it.
