Re: Fripp - sound?New soundscape to download

I don't know exactly how RF does it but my approach is to use a lot of finger vibrato to keep the note moving and two delay lines.
One short one (with low feedback) and a longer one with higher feedback.
On the front end I use a Fuzz Factory pedal and an octaver.

I roll the tone and volume back on the guitar (to around 70%) and almost always use a telecaster with a neck pickup.
If my finger vibrato starts to weaken then I dial the guitar volume up a bit.

I love telecasters because of the metal neck pickup cover- you can tap it, scrape it and so all sorts of rhythmic stuff to it that sounds great.
Pickup taps pitched down an octave sound like wood blocks.

That is a starting point- there are a bunch of other boxes that I use as well- Lexicon vortex has some great sounds in it and I use a computer loaded with Reaktor when doing some live work.

QUESTION: Does anyone know how I can get a similar etheric, spheric sound like FRIPP, when
he is doing his soundscapes. Sure he uses a lot of processors and devices. But maybe
someone knows how to get it in a quite cheap way. I am really interested in this at the moment.
Doesn´t use rhythms and loops that much...
