I always love a Nels/Cryptogramaphone prop, I think he and the label 
deserve much wider recognition. I adore the Amendola band too (though I 
personally think Jeff Parker takes a big poop on the guitar frequencies 
of the latest one...).

I'll have to check out the Blue Nile, reading about them makes me think 
of Talk Talk.
