Whoa...never heard of this before. Crazy. How does "playing" there work?

I admit, I was most excited when I read "Second Life is a 3-D virtual 
world entirely created by its Residents", and thought it said "Second 
Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely created by THE Residents".

I'd pony up $9.95 to live in a world created by the eyeball crew...
