hi, i had a humming noise problem, too.
it was a lot softer when i took the top off.
by putting some isolation , i  made sure that the top of the case wouldn't 
touch the transformator.
the noise is still there, but it's a lot softer now.
somebody told me that the humming is stronger when using the edp with 220 
volts.
seems that the trafo is ment to be used with 110 v.
