To this regard, you gotta see Miro Mantere (who performed at the
y2k6loopfest). His setup includes lots of acoustic instruments (some of 
them
self-built) and loads of electronics. Check out the recording of the main
festival gig at y2k6loopfest.com - his strategy is "no synthesizers, no
samplers" btw - everything is played (with the sole exception of an 
electric
bass guitar) acoustically.
