Bidule has a simple step sequencer (doesn't sync though)
...and a MIDI file player
...and a MIDI file recorder
...and some sort of MIDI looper, or at least that's what it's called.

Bidule can be run as a Rewire slave with a sequencing program, but I 
don't know how that works out.
