It's been said before, but I'll underline the point I guess. No point in making less than 500, given what they cost of 100 or 200 production runs are. And the price of 1000 pressed CD's is very almost the same for 500.

It's very true that at least 1/3 of what you make will be given away - radio, getting gigs, etc... it all adds up fast.
