My impression is that the Looperlative has special support for Note Off
via the momentary buttons facility. In other words, if I program note on
38 as a momentary button meaning either Replace or Replace+Original, then
the note off will presumably toggle the other way.
But this just comes from doing a little bit of poking into momentary
buttons while programming up a controller so that I can start following
all of the advice to "delve deeper". I didn't actually try using the
momentary buttons feature.

P.S. I'm on whatever the current OS release is though I now gather that
that's not necessarily the "best" choice.
