agreed. wasn't it Miles who said that if we aren't making mistakes, we
aren't playing jazz? suggesting that we have to push ourselves ,etc. I
think
it is especially the case in improv music. take risks. become vulnerable.
get outside the lines. I too love dissonance...probably too much. :)
