This is a great functionality! I always keep one midi expression
pedal mapped to volume on the FireworX processor I'm usually playing
through. But I'm not using that pedal for stuttering, more to prevent
(or get the right amount of) acoustic feedback when playing flute or
sax through distortion (or swell in guitar notes). But I have created
some patches that "stutter" (i.e. tremolo like) on different rhythms
of the midi clock tempo. For "manual stuttering into EDP loop" I keep
a FCB button constantly mapped to "Overdub SUS".

This thread have inspired me to try to also cram a "direct instrument
line on/off" button into my set-up. Especially when playing guitar
it's nice to have the machine gun effect handy and eventually loop
the whole thing (monophonic instruments make more sense to me if
"stuttered" after being looped into chords or clusters).
