thanks for the replies! I think the Gibson EDP is out of my price range, unless I can find a rediculous deal on one on Ebay, but I am glad to know that that the Boomerang does have a decay - I did not realize that. Right now that may look like the best option, although I am a bit wary of the noise that many reviewers report as my rig is already quite noisey. Another person recommended the Electro Harmonix 2880 or their 16 second delay (and mentioned that the original lexicon jamman and the electrix repeater also had a function to set the feedback). I'm glad to know that I what I want does indeed exist and for the help in narrowing it down. Now I can return the looper I bought that I thought had a set-able feedback but does not (digitech jamman). In looking at these other ones, I can't tell which ones accept more than one type of input ( 21:

The rc50 does not do any pitch changing. I think the electro harmonix 2880 might be what you need, with the newest software and a midi pedal. Also the eventide time factor does that very well.Teddy KumpelHttp://myspace.com/mistershiftyhttp://myspace.com/TeddybutOn Nov 10, 2007, at 1:35 PM, Krispen Hartung <khartung@cableone.net> wrote:

Okay, I realize this is NOT an amplifier post so I will stop here. If any of you are interested I can tell you much more about it. I WILL confess to using the Electro Harmonix Big Muff for a really nasty fuzz when I need one. I have the one finished in a sic Black Molten Nuclear Waste Industrial Russian box, they make a more civilized looking one in clean chrome made in New York. Love EH boxes in general, much more fun than Boss or Digitech. EH pedals seem to all have settings that go beyond where most civilized players woud go (all the others don't) in other words they go to 11 LOL

Date: Sat, 24 Oct 2009 08:41:45 -0700Subject: Does this effect exist? From: wsirota@wsdesigns.comTo: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.comI feel it would be useful to have a "freeze" effect that, while a footswitch was held down, would seamlessly loop the previous n milliseconds of sound (with n probably between 150 and 400 or so). This is perhaps for a solo jazz guitar context, but there certainly are other applications. So if i had a note that i was playing that I wanted to sustain while I drop in say, a couple of filler chords, i could hit the button and hold it down to do this (and, obviously, the chords would *not* be input to the freeze function). I don't know what you'd call this - "fingerless infinite sustain"? Anyway, maybe this is doable with one of the reverbs I have, or maybe there's some kind of dedicated effect. any ideas? Thanks,Warren

You might consider the Electro Harmonix Microsynth. You can add a square wave with that plus octave and suboctave if you want, and just set the threshhold high so the filter sweep isn't triggered. point cross fading" function in the Vortex?Im not sure, but I have to admit I was using maybe longer loops than the Freeze appears to do, there was a slight takatakatakataka going on, but no electronic buzz, so maybe. But I think its more to do with the fact that when you switch from one patch to the other in Vortex, you are not just changing patches but morphing them. A longer morph time didnt work as the second patch did not have any audio in it, as the morph occured if also tried to fade the delay buffer to 0 , resulting in a quiet loop. but an instantaneous morph, seemed to do the trick, presumably there is some part of the morph algorithm still inplay, even if the morph time is 0..

18:
This is my first posting on Loopers Delight in years as I used to subscribe under a different email address maybe 10 years ago. Since then, we've seen a huge increase in acceptance of looping in mainstream products by Roland, Digitech, Line 6 and others. I used to have a Lexicon Jamman with 32 seconds delay and used to love playing out with it but sold it years ago. Being as it was made in the 90s, I know the Lexicon's specs are probably below standard but I also remember having an Electro Harmonix 16-second delay (it was coined the "Fripp-in-a-box") and I loved what the low-fi warping used to do to my sound over repetitions. I did develop an affection for the sound the Lexicon would give and I got pretty facile on it. I see them on Craigslist for $225 with 32 seconds, pedal and manual and was wondering if

When you say "proper" do you man 2 inputs? I also have a vocoder section in the Roland EF303... and thats very warm (but unintelligible with voice)No I was wondering about the Electro Harmonix cos A) they are small and B) EH stuff is usually... er different... The VoiceTone product I have have the best harmonies over ALL the Digitech or Roland product I have tried. ANd I love their megaphone and telephone effect.Said that, I am not really an expert so I can just talk for what I had in my hands.I suppose the monophonic vocoders, if the VoiceTone is such, are so because it is made for vocalist who do not play any instrument. THis is true also for the V256. Both have an internal synth which generate the vocoder synth part while you sing, even without any other instrument.I like that, because I do not play any instrument.THe voice box is older and the vocoder function in it is more limited then the v256 one, but luckily you can find there a place like thomann (30 days money back guarantee, you try it, and send back the one you do not like).:)> From: markfrancombe@gmail.com> Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2012 18:09:30 +0200> Subject: Re: OT: Vocoders...> To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com> > Sent from my (advertisement removed)> > On 25 Oct 2012, at 17:45, Sergio Girardi <simpliflying@gmail.com> wrote:> > > Mmm. Afterthought:Rack units are often designed not to require seeing or touching during performance. A MIDI-controlled Looperlative LP1 or two, synchronized Gibson Echoplex Digital Pros would do well for the sight-impaired. Yesterday, 12/11, Steve Uccello wrote that he's selling his LP1, with a MIDI pedal. Two Looperlative LP2 pedals or two TC Electronics Dittos (or one a TC Electronics Flashback for reverse, delay, and some looping), with an analog signal switcher (the other kind of looper), would also work. The advantage of two LP2's is that you would have four assignable foot switches. Each could be dedicated to a single function prior to or during performance (e.g., reverse, 1/2 or 1/4 speed, replace, retrigger). The LP2s can be MIDI synced. The advantage of the Ditto is that it is designed to be controlled solely by a tap pattern on a single foot switch. You could hardwire a third switch to the pedals' switches, synchronizing them.I believe that the Boomerang's rotary, function selector does not have stop pins. This could cause problems for the sight-impaired during live performance.Neal

Electro harmonix 45000On Feb 1, 2016, at 12:03 AM, Torben Scharling <torbenscharling@gmail.com> wrote:Sounds very interesting guys. Albeit perhaps a bit too geeky for my brain. My hope was/is that I could ditch, or perhaps combine the rang with the usb controllers, since I need to potentially be looping both electric guitar, electric bass-guitar, vocals and sometimes even keyboard in the same song, and that's just a mess waiting to happen, when you can't control the individual loops volume, and only got an undo of the very last thing you did (unless you call shutting off loop "undo"). However, the idea behind getting the rang and side car was and perhaps still is, that I could have that as the hardware backbone, thus relieving the computer from doing the looping tasks. As time has gone by without me getting thaat much further, I could potentially be looking at not getting my first ideal setup up and running the way I want it, until the next generation of MacBook Pro's arrive, which should be by summer 2016. So by then, or by when I can actually afford something like that, I would hope I could do it all in the box with effects etc. with low latency. That's been my dream for over a decade. But, I can't sit around and wait for that, so I gotta listen to you experts and start to get a stable and capable system up and running somehow with what I got, and can afford. Even if that means going stand-alone instead of DAW, or if it means running software looping and the boomerang combined. At first obviously I had thought I could do it all with the boomerang, but I find it too dogma'ish and tend to create the loops the same way, with loop 3 as master, and then add on the 1,2 and 4 channels, but that only takes me about 1/3rd or 1/4th of the way to sounding professional enough. Mind you I'm not usually trying to do soundscape type of stuff, but rather trying to make a one-man "band" sound like a 4 piece.. Might as well show my current in the works board, as I appreciate the input from you guys, and I'm sure I can learn a lot if I sit down and take the time to try and understand some of the neat ideas and tricks y'all are mentioning, that I don't really this point understand what even means :) If anyone has "rang" type presets and layouts for whatever software (mac capable) I'm all ears and inbox, cause I have no programming skills whatsoever :)http://ibin.co/2VQk9IPFgi95http://ibin.co/2VQkM64457bv

I am looking for a list of hardware loopers with the ability to have free-running (unsynched) loops..Apart from the two I am aware of:Boss RC-300Electro Harmonix 22500 looperTC Ditto x4, though the second loop’s length will always end in multiples of the 1st loop
