Age:50
Location:New York City

Projects/Ensembles:Arcane Device 1988-94, 'Feedback Music'. Performances mostly in NYC at places like Knitting Factory, Roulette, The Kitchen, Experimental Intermedia.
Instruments:None per se. Many custom built devices allow simple effects units to feed back into themselves and cross feed to other units via 'feedback matrices'.
Looping Gear:I'm often switching gear, trying different setups. Past loop gear has been: E-H 16 second delay, Deltalab Echotron, (4) Digitech 7.6 Time Machines, (3) DOD PDS 20/20 delay pedals, MXR 1500 delay, Oberheim Echoplex Digital Pro, and (4) Lexicon Vortexes. Right now (June 99) looking forward to trying out some of the newer, smaller pieces such as the Akai Headrush and Zoom 2100 for a very portable, tabletop setup I'm contemplating. For another project I've used ReBirth software exclusively, with my own sounds of clicks, snaps, static, etc.
Influences:Generally more experimental: Paul Dresher, Carl Stone, Tod Dockstader, Oval (Marcus Popp), Ryoji Ikeda, COH (Ivan Pavlov).
Musical Style:Experimental, soundscape. Not so inclined to head-banging these days; edgy ambient, perhaps.
Recordings Available:Quite a few Arcane Device recordings on LPs/singles/tapes/CDs, pretty much out of print now, but I'm willing to burn CDRs for interested parties. All of it has plenty of 'live' looping happening. The 'cel' stuff is looping in the more computer-loop sense. See my site for details/descriptions.
Even though I'm doing some work in the computer now and make use of 'static' loops, in my view 'loop music' is that accumulative thing based on the continuous tape loop. 'Let the Power Fall' and 'A Rainbow in Curved Air' are still at the top of my personal list.
