Re: Kitara MIDI guitar

I guess they are coming out with just a controller version for $300. I have similar concerns. I'm not sure if the buttons would do it for me. Does anyone make a MIDI ready guitar with actual strings? Seems like Roland has totally dominated the market with the hex pickup and their standalone units, and I see that the Axon stuff is off the market now. I suppose I could by one of those old Roland GI-20 converter and a hex pickup. But those things are apparently slow as hell.

I agree-I couldn't justify 900 bucks for that-I bet you we'll see an iPad audio interface shaped like that in the next year or so, especially if this takes off. I could see 300 bucks max (it still has midi I/o and plenty of triggers) for that shell and 9.99 for the app, but 900 is a little expensive for what you are getting.

But why would you really want this? Its basically a guitar 'shaped'
synth controller. Not that its not interesting, but is the appeal
that its cooler than a keytar?

Last I heard, he still wasn't shipping this. Still a prototype but
getting closer to an actual product.
