Piano study will serve you well all throughout your musical life, and is 
the doorway to many other parts of music.

Electronic music curriculum is better than it has ever been.

No reason not to pursue them both. If you are a real artist, you would 
likely do so whether or not you do so in an academic setting. But if you 
have the opportunity to get that solid education, go for it :)
