airFX level mismatch.

i just mentioned AirFX In another post, thought Id just drop a
question regarding its gain levels.

Its currently stuck on the output of one if my edp's, for processing.
However, if i select one of the "sound fx" patches, it comes out
INSANELY loud, But if i put the EDP thru something to increase its
volume, like a Limiter pedal i have, it just distorts.. Is this just a
"cheap product" problem, or a "need a better "Audio boost solution"
issue?
