PS, and this is something i would suggest to anyone, find a good electronic technician in your area, and get them to take a look inside your LP-1, I think you have an issue at the source (the midi jacks themselves, possibly a cold solder joint as earlier suggested) As a matter of fact it is now common wisdom that any gear made in china, which would include most PC board manufacturing, be gone through and had the critical connections re-soldered using better quality solder. Particularly for connections like inputs and outputs and midi connections if applicable. Why? because cheap solder and wave soldering does not produce long lasting connections. Even a guy like Bob who is doing all of the final assembly must subcontract his pc boards and other components.
