Actually you don't need the Looper in Ableton to do loop based music with. You just need a controller to use the record playback functions to get your loops done. What you do after that is solely up to your imagination. Just ask Christopher Willits. As he's been doing a show about using a guitar and Ableton and Max for live for a while now.
