livelooping article for guitar magazine...

guitar player had a decent article a few yrs ago that featured a few folks we all know here (fripp, torn, lafosse, amy x...etc)

i'm not sure where to start w/ nowadays.

there are so many tools available for folks to use.

i would disagree w/ the frisell not being "innovative". his disfarmer disc and his live double disc from a few yrs ago had some great stuff on there. and when i saw him live 2 yrs ago, his little 2 min looping thing had people scratching their heads-it was a great noisefest--which i could handle listening to a whole album worth of matieral-just don't think most of his fans would do it.

david torn in his recent torn/king gig in nyc-there is a lot of looping in the 25 min vid clip, granted he doesn't play out a lot, since i think his world is creating music for soundtracks/tv/movies...

nels cline-in that dvd he did w/ the visual artist (can't remember names)-whew, he does some great looping in that...but his main gig that most would know him is playing w/ wilco--which obviously gets his name out...

but most of these folks are "instrumental"-i know there are bands out there who do this stuff as well as singer/songwriters...most of whom i do not know. (kt kunstall, howie day, etc)

and from the vid someone posted a few days ago....adrian belew does stuff too....
good luck w/ it...
