Re: Re: The EDP and the Looperlative and me

Per was talking about some of the design functionality that is desired in
a looper and Bill responded with some of the LP-1's capabilities.

I also wanted to add that another fascinating thing that the
Looperlative does which is unique in the hardware world is the fact that
you can connect to the Internet through an Ethernet port connecting a
computer to the LP-1 to upgrade the instruments software.

The LP-1 navigates to the latest software revision out, downloads it
and installs it
within 30 seconds.

If there is a strong consensus amongst users for either a new piece of
software or a revision
or fix of older software problems, then Bob Amstadt (or Andy Butler)
can work on it.
Software revisions are free.

I don't think that exists anywhere else in the hardware world and even a
lot of software developers
don't allow for free upgrades (some, like the amazing FL Studio aka
Fruity Loops do for life).

I've been working on some new loop manipulations that don't exist
anywhere so far
in software or hardware and there's a strong possibility that they will
be a reality
at some time in the not too distant future.

To me, someone with a lot of live looping experience, but absolutely no
knowledge of
programming, that is a very, very exciting prospect.

A device whose inventor really cares about the user base seem extremely
rare in the music biz.

This to me is one of the strong selling points of the instrument.

And then, to add icing to the cake, the most popular features of the
LP-1's development have
made their way into the LP-2 Mini Looper which has plans to launch at
NAMM 2011.

It's a mono looper, not a stereo looper but with serious features added
and it's an amazing
1/4 of the price of the LP-1.......only $50 more than my beloved Line 6
DL-4s with
four times the functionality plus midi sync and loop storage on board.

It's an exciting time coming up for those reasons.

sooooooo, LOOP ON EVERYONE and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I look forward to hearing everyone's music this year regardless of what
gear they use.

Musical Creativity and Mutual Love and Support in this Community is the
very most important thing to me, personally!

I hope everyone knows this!!!!!

yours, Rick Walker
