Re: Pedal, Table or Rack

I am one of those who doesn't gig out often. I have many pedals on the floor and several on a table. The ones on the table all have foot controls of some kind on the floor. I also have 2 Vortex rack units but they just sit on the table top and are controlled via ex ped and buttons. I have absolutely no more space left unless I go vertical :) Even many of the floor peds also have additional ex ped and FS buttons controlling them. I love having access to the controls of my Alesis Mod fX and 2880 with my hand but they also have some fs control.

I sit when playing, backs not good, there is still a certain amount of leaning over to twiddle knobs but I am getting pretty good with my toes for this.

I always wanted one good rack unit/footcontrol pedal that would do everything. Laptops might someday accomplish this I suppose.

peace,

Jeff

Excellent question! :-)

Been chewing on this one for a while.
Personally, I prefer hand control most of the stuff. There are only very few functions that could benefit from foot control, personally.

For, me currently the best solution so far is the STANTON UBERSTAND:

Unlike a DJ, however, the laptop is on the _buttom_ and midi controllers are on _top_ (I can even fit in the audi interface if I want to).

Works excellent, very light & small, fits anywhere on a chair etc.
