I am looking to upgrade my 2003 PowerBook to a MacBook pro. It is possible to upgrade the internal drive to a 7200 RPM but it is a bit pricey and takes time: you must order it from Apple Store. Is it really a necessary : I will be doing live recording of my concerts with as many as 16 tracks over firewire (Yamaha mLAN to be specific).
