thanks for all the replies to everyone, I have bookmarked that link Sylvain and will do some more research. Looking at some of my apps there are some that would need to be upgraded for 64 bit and some that claim to be ready to rock, :) I do use many freeware and cheapo type apps/plugins, etc. They have been good enough for me as a home hobbiest looping guy. XP works fine for me and I haven't been in a hurry to upgrade.
