Re: boot camp or parallels



I have to second Per's response.  I too use boot camp quite happily
running Windows XP with service pack 2.  Both OSs, so i'm told, will run
less efficiently if you're running Windows using parallels.  I've had
numerous IT pros tell me that unless you really need immediate access to
the Windows side, boot camp works much better.  In fact i've never seen
Windows work so well as on my Mac!

The one inconvenience is always needing an external memory device to move
things from one side to the other.  (I have a 500 GB hard drive in my
machine, with the partitions about even.  I only use Windows for a few
audio-related applications, but they're obviously dealing with much larger
files.)  But then, who isn't carrying a 8 GB thumb drive on them most of
the time these days anyway?
