I've tried various compressors over the years and I read reviews of 
compressors fairly often. I've played with the compressor models on my 
Line6 equipment. And at the end of the day, I seem to not use them that 
much. (Anyone want a Digitech X-series compressor pedal?)

That said, Rick Walker has in the past made a point that I need a 
compressor or limiter when using the E-bow so that I don't blow away the 
audience. Instead, I've been turning to fuzz effects because I generally 
have one available in my set up, but that means altering the tone.

I've also tried using the limiter in my TC M300 on the end of the signal 
chain as basically a global limiter, but I haven't tweaked or experimented 
with it as much as Per has. Perhaps I should. Or perhaps I should look at 
using something like the RNC if I don't just succumb and go all 
computer-based.
