Re: Was Walker Bros Elegies now Ebow and technique

I didn't know Fripp ever used an Ebow actually, is this true? I always
thought he got that sustain with a Les paul, a pair of fuzzes and amp in
the
early days and then moved to a Fernandes sustainor. I would imagine that
he
has tried one.
I am one of "those" and don't mind a bit if I am derivitive of Fripp
(although nowhere in the realm of imagination as good). I (over?) use a
sustainor now and still use my ebow on acoustic. I just love to drone what
can I say. Delays, drones and loops, yes!

peace out,

j

I've never been a fan of ebow or Fripp but I did experience that
feeling ten years ago when I first heard one of Terry Reilly's early
tape loop concerts where he played saxophone. "My gosh, it sounds
exactly as me when looping on the sax"... or rather the other way
around, it now appeared. A weird feeling to suddenly realize that
something you have discovered and developed actually has been done
already by someone else before you.

My mechanical vibrator Sustaniac has stopped working, due to a bad
magnet, so I may be using ebow more with my fretless guitar in the
days to come.
