Fw: Re: Bass players - what's a good

First I'd start with a a chocolate milk shake, a big juicy slice of
prime rib, and a baked potato with plenty of butter and sour
cream ,and a big slice of chocolate cream pie for desert...oh wait,
were you talking about getting a fat sound for bass or a fat bass
player????
since there are many ways of getting a Fat sound and just as many
opinions about how to get it, I'd suggest something that gives you a
few choices, either by using a good compressor/limiter which I don't
think any one has mentioned, an octaver, which my excellent funk
playing friend uses to slam the low end, both of these effects are
rendered very well the the line 6 M-9 which is small yet very powerful
and simple to operate, That way you could have a limiter, an octaver
and a moog style filter all running at once, or a parametric eq a sub
octave fuzz and a noise gate. Nice little looper built in as well. no
they aren't paying me to say this... I just like how simple and pedal
like the stuff is to program and the sounds range from very good to
amazing.
