OT: What's on your iPod/CDplayer/Turntable

Whow, Rick, a good idea to steer discussion back into some more
interesting (albeit still OT) paths.

No, I don't have an iPod, and I really hate the white headphone cables
they use. As for headphones for ithings and similar mp3/media players,
let me just recommend the Bose thingies - highly recommended (although
they were about double the price of my portable media player).

Now let me just check the memory of my player:

Tool: Aenima/Lateralus/10.000 Days
Chick Corea: Akoustic Band - can't recommend this acoustic jazz trio
highly enough. The version of "Spain" alone is worth the album alone.
Jimi Hendrix: Are you Experienced?
Squarepusher: Big Loada
Dream Theater: Black Clouds and Silver Linings - their latest album, I
have to say I don't enjoy it as much as some of their other works
(including Systematic Chaos), but the third bonus disc with some cover
tunes (including LTIA2) is fun!
Opeth: Blackwater Park - some outstanding progressive death metal from
a group which was then (imo) at the peak of their artistic quality (at
least so far).
Zappa/Beefheart: Bongo Fury
Dave Douglas: Convergence
Laswell/Inoe: Monochrome Existence
Antwerp Live Looping Festival - some of the tracks by Michael Peters
and Luis Angulo are just killer!
Weather Report: I sing the body electric
Kruder&Dorfmeister: DJ Kicks/The K&D Sessions
Louis Sclavis: Lost on the way
Massacre: Meltdown
Rage against the Machine - Rage against the Machine - the tune "Wake
Up" is so funky, it will drop your pants
Audioslave: Revelations - the last track "Moth" is the best track from
this group
Ozric Tentacles: Sprials in Hyperspace
Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense
Conlon Nancarrow: Studies for Player Piano
John Zorn: The Circle Maker - Disc 2
Naked City: Torture Garden
Evelyn Glennie: Wind in the Bamboo Groves
Rainer Straschill: Weird Specialist - yes, I still like it ;)
The Boredoms: Vision Creation Newsun
Margaret Noble: West of Ashland Ave DJ Mixtape
Michael Brecker: Wide Angles - was reminded of him just recently by
the list of WordPress release names
A Mental Collection: my personal metal playlist

@Jim Goodin: I believe the Towner album you're talking about is called
"Solo Concert", if so, it's one of my favourites as well (it's the one
that ends with "Timeless"). Legend has it that I actually attended one
of the performances which led to this album without actually having
been born at that time, as my parents attended the concert with me on
the way...

Best,

           Rainer
