Re: OT DID YOU KNOW? A fascinating and eye opening video aboutchanges in the digital media age

Good thoughts, Jeff.

One of our local radio talk show idiots, Adam Corolla, talks off and on
about how our school paradigm has let us down, in that we teach Algebra and
Trigonometry and such, which few of us will ever use in the future, and we
make kids run laps and do biology dissections and such. But we fail to
teach things like "How to splint a broken leg in an emergency" or "how to
stop someone from bleeding to death" and other basic life preserving
skills.

I agree. If we drilled some emergency basics into humanity at that age, as
much as we got the Reading/Writing/Arithmetic, we'd all have a few more
tricks in our pocket that would come in handy in a pinch.

Now we just need a major sunflare to take out all of our
magnetic/electronic
driven wonders, and the Tower of Babel all comes down.

I'm gonna go kiss my wife and snuggle my cats. Fortunately, I don't need
any additional education or a software upgrade to make that happen.

Just my 2 cents.
Rich
