Sooperlooper or Mobius? Going back to software.

I currently have a 'top of the line' macbook 13" that I originally bought for looping. Well...I also bought an EDP, but now I want to go back to software. I can't really afford this laptop, but I still want to run sooperlooper. I've read from other SL users that it ran great with just a powerbook. I was thinking that a powerbook wouldn't cost too much, and I could pocket about $700 from the macbook, and another $700 from the EDP. I could then get a small thinkpad to run softsynths.

I love having the ability to control multiple loops at once, and have a visual representation of it. Also, the sooperlooper GUI was really intuitive, to me anyway, and I want to start using it again. I've read that Mobius is a good contender, but I thought the GUI was ugly.

Any suggestions?
