Re: FS: VG99, FC300

Hi ho back, Ted

What happened was 2008! And just immediately, a shitty client.

But frankly, about 2 months ago, I finally acknowledged that I'd been
mostly thinking about that 99 as a rainy-day savings account almost
since I got it. I haven't picked up a guitar out of any more
compelling impulse than nostalgia since I moved out here, really. And
I certainly went for the 99 with revival fantasies about my old VG-
programming glory days, more than from any more fundamental or
energetic longing.

I'd been planning on checking out how my VG-88 patches would translate
to the 99, when my free-time ship finally came in, since it's clearly
the son of 88, and only a distant cousin to the VG-8, which was a far
more interesting box, imo. I was hoping that this would be a good way
for me to start to unlock it. So that was a pretty negative light to
be regarding the whole enterprise with, I guess, considering how much
I prefer the 8. It takes serious motivation to wrestle down these 66-
gabillion-options boxes, and I'm just not inspired that way any more.
There, said. (Still buying soft-synths, though…)

It's painting that's waiting for me and my happy, must-be-coming! span
of free time; I'm chomping on that bit, I can tell you. Plus, I still
have both the old VGs, just in case, so that road's not completely
grown over, yet…

Thanks for asking:)

And best to you, too. Hope all's well and looking cheerful over there
in the Medford/Ashland corridor. I finally visited Ashland, btw, last
Nov, on a fluke-ish photo assignment from my old employer. Sweet
place! It was a distinct culture shock after Brookings. I was
surprised at how completely I'd forgotten what it's like to walk down
a street bustling with prosperous and cultured professionals and the
shops and amusements that cater to them.

(hey, I think I just sold it…seeya!)
