The only reason a mic cable would be hi-z( high impedance) is that it's made with very cheap wires that don't conduct well. So when you see lo-z I reckon it means "hey, you noticed this is a cheap cable, but we'd like to assure that this isn't one of those really cheap cables that lose half your signal and hum a lot." When MF are refering to "for hi-z mics" they mean that it's an unbalanced cable, you can't use it with a condenser mic (because of phantom power). That would be good for your mic & the Kaoss pad, as far as I can tell from the Korg website. So, based on all that, this *looks* ok http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Horizon-HZ-Series-Cable-Female-XLR-to-Male-14?sku=336121 and pick the shortest cable that's still long enough. andy butler ps, so maybe if they say lo-z, they mean "for a condenser mic", i.e. balanced.
