re: LD collaborative cantaloupe

oops ----- yeah, it was down.  Sorry, I was making some changes and had the site down for a bit.  It's back now.

And yeah, in response to Harry ... I can sent you 4 loops .... the drums, the other drums, the chords, and the bass .....

You can alter the loops, or only use one or two of them, or play them all backwards ...... anything you can do is fine with me ..... as long as it can flow to/from the other participants.  but then, I'll edit them all at the end and can make that happen.

The point here is to get a fair representation of the different looping styles ...... so I would like to get a few solos that discard the chord changes and just float off ...... or do some pitch/frequency shifting ...... anything is fine.

I'll post the finished product with a list of the people and what they played, and with what looper.

Also, if a couple people could do the melody too, that would be cool .... maybe on some interesting instruments (Theremin would be cool).  I have a copy of the sheet if anyone is interested in that.

lemme know

Subject: LD collaborative cantaloupe

So I was working with a looped version of cantaloup island the other day, and it occured to me that it would be really easy to send out the loop (as one or several .wav files) to other loopers and get each of them to add a solo ......

I was thinking we could do this with five or six of us and each person could generate a solo that is one or two times through the progression ......

Then send your work back to me and I'll edit it all together.  Sort of a quick way to get a collaborative work together.

Anyone up to it?

You can hear what I put together yesterday at www.aaronleese.com ..... just click on cantaloup island in the player.  Naturally, I won't keep that much of my own soloing in the collaborative work ... probably just once through the progression for me.  The melody is in  F minor, but feel free to take the solos where-ever you like.
