This Friday night Andre LaFosse, Todd Reynolds, Motoko Honda, and Daren Burns

I just wanted to drop a line and tell you about a gig I have this
Friday night. I have a special duet performance with pianist, Motoko
Honda @ Cafe Metropol, a great restaurant/club in downtown. On the
bill is also the fantastic guitarist, Andre LaFosse playing his
unique style of "turntablist" guitar (not to be missed) and from New
York we have violinist, Todd Reynolds playing a solo set, enhanced
with electronics. Hope to see you there!

Todd Reynolds (www.toddreynolds.com)
Composer, conductor, arranger, violinist and electronic musician, is
a veteran of the New York City music scene, and a longtime touring
and recording member member of Bang On A Can, Steve Reich and
Musicians and Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Project . Collaborations run the
gamut from Todd Rundgren and Joe Jackson to Kenny Werner and Betty
Buckley to Meredith Monk and Scanner. His solo sets on tour opening
for Indie sensations, The Books, and his affiliation with and use of
the music software phenomenon Ableton Live have opened his unique
blend of "classically- improvised-quantum-ambient-electronica" to a
new and wider audience. His commitment to genre-bending and
technology-driven innovation in music continues to produce
innumerable collaborations with artists that regularly cross musical
and disciplinary boundaries, regularly placing him in venues from
clubs to concert halls around the world.

Andre LaFosse (www.altruistmusic.com)
Andre LaFosse calls his performance style 'turntablist guitar': a
post-DJ, non-linear cut-up of hip-hop, avante garde, and dance
music... that just happens to come from a solo elecric guitar.
LaFosse has played and/or shared performance bills with David Torn,
Michael Manring, Mike Keneally, Carl Stone, G. E. Stinson, Steuart
Liebig, and many others. His work has been profiled in numerous print
and online media, including Guitar Player, Electronic Musician, MOJO,
Alternative Press, Time Out New York, and Expose'. LaFosse has
performed at the 2004 and 2006 editions of the New York Guitar
Festival, and was the subject of an episode of "New Sounds" on New
York's WNYC radio.

Daren Burns (www.darenburns.com)
Daren is a unique electric bass player, composer, improviser and has
been playing and creating music for well over twenty years. Much of
his musical interest lies in the area of improvisation and how to
make systems for developing improvisation in new and unique ways. He
is working on notation systems which incorporate rock, world music,
jazz, noise with his open structured compositions that give the
musician freedom, while also giving the composer his fully realized
ideas. Over his career. Daren has shared the stage with Wadada Leo
Smith, Neil Sadler, Butch Morris, Mike Keneally, Nels Cline, Vinny
Golia, Jeff Kaiser, Andre LaFosse, John Bergamo, Randy Gloss, Chris
Opperman, and many, many others.

Motoko currently lives in downtown Los Angeles, CA, she is a founding
member of Los Angeles Piano Unit, a group dedicated to perform all
kinds of piano music from classical to experimental. She is also a
member of M. Rare Trio, and a founder of Okiro music Series and
Ensemble. She is currently working on the "Sound Escape Project", an
experimental collaboration with some of the greatest improvisers in
the world.
