Yes, they can definitely be of different length.

You can dial them in in milliseconds toi make them whatever length you 
want and then store the delay length times in the "banks."

This enable you to do one of my favorite "tricks" with the thing:

Let's say you want to do a piece that is 96BPM, that handily works out to 
having delays that are some multiple of 0.625 seconds 

Set up the banks as follows:

0.625 seconds = one beat

2.5 seconds = 4 beats

5 seconds = 8 beats

10 seconds = 16 beats

20 seconds = 32 beats

As you can see, this even subdividing has some handy musical uses (even if 
you only get to have 2 contiguous delay time going at any given time).

Just step through the different "timezones" and build yourself a basic 
blues song (if you want) or something more abstract if you prefer.

It's is also quite nice that it's stereo.
