The Ernie Ball would give you "the better solution".  It works through
the full range of motion.

The other solution is to control feedback via MIDI, using whatever
device you want to use (pedal, slider, knob, whatever) to send the
0-127 CC values for feedback.

Or were you wanting to use ESP to control it? :)
