Re: Ableton live/trigger finger probs

I thought I'd come back and post an update.  I fixed the problem that I posted earlier (quoted below).

For some (stupid!) reason, I installed the updated device driver from M-Audio while in the *wrong hardware profile*.  I have 2 hardware profiles - one for live audio processing, with a lot of unnecessary hardware/software disabled - and one with everything enabled, that I sometimes use for light email/net/documents/etc. I installed the driver in the "full" profile, and then proceeded to use the device in the "audio" profile.  Both profiles have the USB ports enabled, but something didn't like that AT ALL :)

I uninstalled the M-Audio driver and reinstalled it within my audio profile, and everything works fine.  It even handles another M-Audio USB device (Radium 49) simultaneously without problems.

Summary: operator error.

I'm having a very similar problem with my Trigger Finger and Ableton Live 5.  Googling seems to indicate that there are some problems with the drivers, and even this latest update (dated 12/31/07) doesn't fix the problem.  Apparently, if you call M-Audio you get instructed to reinstall Windows.  Uh, no.

See the Harmony-Central reviews for the Trigger Finger to read more.

For now, I'm just powering it with an adapter and sending MIDI through a standard MIDI port.

Sucks.

Anyone out there who can fathom this prob??

Ive got an maudio trigger finger and ableton live 6. I want to setup
my TF to trigger drum sounds, scenes and hopefully to get my
livelooping setup in ableton ALA kid beyond although with drums and
percussion.

I am very new to this and this happens to be the topic of an honours
research essay.

I have gotten a signal coming through from the trigger finger and
started triggering impulse rather easily although after about 30secs
or so the connection is lost and I no longer recieve any midi signal
from the trigger finger. I have tried reloading Ableton and turning
the TF on/Off but to no avail. I am rather stumped. What could be the
problem.

Really need more than 30secs of connnection time to start this project
