Buttons can be defined to send MIDI CC commands for switching effects 
on/off and/or manipulate parameters.

This is analoque to having traditional effects pedals on the floor, 
called stomp boxes, only, now such effects resides in programmable 
(rack-mostly) gear, and as such can be controlled in stomp-mode.

Do notice the various Gordius products are also designed to work with 
Behringer FCB1010 boards, increasing the nof buttons and flexibility.
