I don't know anything about the FW400, but I know you've been looking forward to this day for a while now. Congrats!

I've read about other firewire devices issuing that hot plug warning, but don't know any details. if there's a yellow card in there warning against it, I wouldn't do it until/unless you read a product update from RME. Don't break that thing! :)
