strong third recommendation. even though i'm classically trained, i learned a lot about 20th century "classical" music and the spots where it crosses with what's more typically considered ambient. a really informative book.

Strong second recommendation for the book Nico mentioned, I was very impressed by it when I read it. Here's the Amazon listing for the book, with reviews. The most recent reviews seem quite negative, though.
