While I'm with you for the rest of your post, here you have to consider
this:

For the old Neumann mics (pre-WW2), Neumann only manufactured the capsules.
The electronics and housing was manufactured after Neumann specs by
Telefunken. So the Neumann mics are ripoffs of older Neumann mics with a
"Telefunken" logo on them.
