Re: circus animals

howdy,

I do mostly techno, reggae, and synth-pop. but i
still listen to the big bands of the 40s. Chet Atkins
and Les Paul did a "Chester and Lester" album years
ago that I enjoy. In 28 years of FOHmixing, probably
60% of it was country. One night late on PBS, Chet
Atkins played a show.Heanounced he was going to try
something but didn't know how it would turn out. He
proceded to play the Washington Post march on a 6
string guitar and EVERY note was there. Granted, he
playedit fairly slowly, but itstill didn't keep my jaw
from hanging open.

Les paul use to demonstrate what I would think would
be a looping machine. He'd play a part, then stack
another, then another, etc. i think i read earlier on
this forum thatit wasn't real. Butcould he have been
playing an8 track tape machine with a loop of tape in
it? Is that looping?
