The RC-50 produces a line-level output -- if you are referring to  
active (powered) speakers, then you could use them with an RC-50.

The RC-50's headphone output has sufficient power to drive headphones  
and it may drive small (as in tiny) speakers... however to get enough  
volume you would need to use active speakers.
