OT: the first 24 hours

In the first 24 hours of the LD Off Topic List we
have
5 messages,
but one of them mentions looping

In that same time period
on the On-topic LD list
157 messages
4 of which are on topic
10 have  OT in the title

well, that's a bit unfair, some of the mac vs pc stuff contains
info that might help a laptop looper, it's only a rough count.

It clearly doesn't work to ask people to put OT in the title,
and anyway not all of us have email filter skills.

I think the off topic list offers subscribers a useful chance to 
discuss non-looping subjects without worrying about clogging
up the main list with posts that have little or no relevance to the core 
subject.


As to all things being related, I fear that before the relevance of
the antics of politicians in Idaho to looping can be made apparent we 
shall all
be long dead.  i.e. obviously all things are related in some way, but lets 
consider whether
that relationship is actually significant.

I promise not to continue this thread here even if Kris says something 
really tempting.
