Oh I almost forgot
you can stretch words with the edp
you need a non latching midi controler that can send several messages at 
press and several at release
and the two edp messages are "retrigger" at button press and, at button 
release the "rettriger note off" and "start point" messages.
with this setup if you fire a burst of fast button presses the text will 
be 
granulated in small chunks and stretched

I do that with my Peavey pc1600x tabletop midi controler or my digitech 
pmc10 foot controler
