Good question. I believe Rick is first awaiting
confirmation of whether Rainer will be able to make it. If so, then maybe Rainer
would be willing to drive this event again. I thought it was a great idea, and
would love to participate this year (I missed out last year because I was too
involved in streaming the main event and recording).
BTW, this year I will not be streaming the main
event to the internet again, nor will I be recording every performance direct
from the mixer board. The time and attention to stream is tremendous, and the
return on investment (1-10 people online listening) doesn't justify the effort.
I notified Rick that I would not being doing this,
so that I can feel more part of the event this year. For the last few years, I
have felt somewhat detached from the event because I've been chained to the
recording/streaming mixer board. I am now looking forward to mingling about and
meeting with many of you, talking about things, etc. I also won't be recording
from the board. Instead, I'll be recording live from the room, with my digital
recorder and two high quality stereo mics. I plan to just turn the recorder on
and record for several hours at time, and then sort out the files after the
event. So, if any of you want high quality, direct from board recordings of your
performance, you may consider recording your own performance. In any
event, I will still make the live room recordings available via the web for
those who grant permission to do so. I think it will be interesting this year to
have a live room mix of the event.
In constrast, if someone is willing to record every
perfoermance from the house mixer board, or even stream to the
internet, and take ownership of either of these tasks, I'm sure Rick would
not object, nor would I.

Are there plans to do NINJam events again this year? I'm
interested if there are.

Hello all,
Here is just the starter page to get the word out.
There are still some tentative venues, etc, but Rick is working on all
of this. He has the master plan.

I think most common hotels on Ocean street or Pacific Ave would be
fine. I may stay at the Best Western this year. The year before
last year I stayed at the Bay Front Inn...not bad. The year
before that I stayed at the Inn Cal on Ocean. I don't recommend that
hotel, however.

LoopFest Santa Cruz
Hi all - I'm planning to be at
LoopFest in October. Can anyone tell me what location is
best for a hotel? Does the Fest occur near the beach or closer to
downtown? I'd like to be as close to the action as possible!
Thanks in advance for your help.
