i think i am settaling on an rc-20xl. it looks like it will do slightly more than i need to give me room to grow and i wont have buyers regret in 6 months or something. I am pretty excited, i just have to figure out the mic and a cheep amp, and I will be making music soon

As a true beginner to looping, I might also start off with an RC-2.
